As a soloist, I have travelled to many countries around the world and had the privilege of performing with numerous orchestras. Yet my experience with Filarmónica Nossa Senhora das Neves — Banda da Relva, in the Azores, was a truly wonderful surprise.
What impressed me was not only the warm, welcoming atmosphere, but above all the outstanding musical quality of the musicians. This is an orchestra full of highly talented people, including many young musicians, with exceptional clarinettists and outstanding players across the woodwind and brass sections.
